Looking for a perfect last minute getaway, Shon and I decided to hop on a plane to Cabo San Lucas and drive up to Playa Pescadero near Todos Santos for a three-night glamping getaway at the dreamy Baja Nomads Hotel. What we found was more than just a relaxing escape—it was a soulful recharge packed with Baja flavor, desert adventures, and unforgettable sunsets.
Baja Nomads Hotel: Glamping Done Right
This chic little eco-hotel was everything we needed and more. Spotless accommodations, outstanding service (huge shoutout to Ruben, Vincent, and the whole crew), and possibly the best Baja fish tacos we've ever had. The price? Just right.
Baja Nomads features a gorgeous open-air yoga shala, a traditional sweat lodge (where, with a day's notice, a shaman can guide you through ancient healing practices), floating beds by the pool (Shon's personal favorite), a stargazing platform, fire pit, and a soothing, curated playlist that sets the tone for total relaxation.
With a max occupancy of just 36, this spot is perfect for laid-back family reunions, wellness retreats, or intimate gatherings. You can even book the whole place for your group with enough advance notice!
Foodie Delights in Todos Santos & Pescadero
Only a five-minute drive away, the charming town of Todos Santos offers incredible culinary treasures. One of our favorites, Agricole Cocina de Campo, located in El Pescadero, is a must-visit. This beautifully curated food co-op serves up locally grown organic produce, fresh-baked bread, specialty coffee, an impressive wine selection, and a peaceful garden for lingering meals.
Another gem is Taller 17, a trendy open-air bakery and café in the heart of Todos Santos. Known for their artisanal pastries, fresh-pressed juices, and relaxed ambiance, it's a perfect spot to start your day.
And then there's The Green Room, a beachfront restaurant in Todos Santos where you can enjoy elevated Mexican cuisine with your toes in the sand and a margarita in hand. The sunset views are simply legendary.
Other top-rated restaurants in the area include:
Jazamango: Farm-to-table dining at its finest by renowned chef Javier Plascencia.
Benno at Hotel San Cristóbal: Offering coastal Mexican cuisine in a beautifully designed beachfront setting.
Tenoc: A hidden gem blending traditional ingredients with contemporary techniques.
Santos Pecados: A colorful, family-run restaurant and bar in Todos Santos serving authentic Mexican and Latin cuisine with generous portions and friendly service.
Surf, Sand & ORVs
Surfers rejoice: the Playa Pescadero and Cerritos areas are home to some of Baja’s most consistent and rideable waves. Local surf shop Costa Azul Surf Shop in Los Cerritos offers lessons for all skill levels, board rentals, and surf excursions to some of the best breaks in the region.
For those craving a little throttle therapy, off-road vehicle adventures are available through Baja Rock Pirates Backcountry Adventures. Located in Todos Santos, they offer Polaris UTV rentals and guided tours through stunning Pacific coastal trails, desert terrain, and mountain landscapes—all equipped with GPS, radios, and safety gear.
Day Tripping Adventures
If you have more time, consider some epic day trips:
Playa Balandra: A turquoise-water paradise near La Paz, perfect for snorkeling, fishing, paddleboarding, and basking in shallow, warm waters.
San Jose del Cabo Art District: Explore the town's charming galleries, cobblestone streets, and vibrant Art Walk every Thursday evening.

Final Thoughts
Sometimes the best trips are the unplanned ones. Baja Nomads gave us a taste of Baja California Sur that we didn’t even know we were craving. From serene mornings in the yoga shala to evenings by the fire pit under a sea of stars, this was a getaway we won’t soon forget.
